Consult wilderness and environment rules and adapt to the following list.

  1. Rogue Tide (Ocean or Coastal): Sudden tidal surge, Swim or Reflex save or be swept into pools.
  2. Giant Crab (Island or Shore): 1–2 aggressive, nesting grabs.
  3. Seabird Flock (Ocean or Island): Roosting or migrating, minor hazard, opportunity to harvest feathers/eggs.
  4. Reef Shark (Coast or Shallows): 1–3 sharks attack swimmers/fishers.
  5. Bioluminescent Fauna Swarm (Deep Ocean): Glowing fish or cephalopods passing.
  6. Locathah Scout (Coastal or Shore): 1–2 locathah warriors may observe, trade, or warn of nearby predators.
  7. Rogue Giant Lobster (Shallow Ocean or Island Pool): 1–2 ambush predators.
  8. Ice-Floe or Slush Drift (Ocean or Open Water): Floating ice or salt crust. Pilot, Balance, or Climb check.
  9. Deep Trench Currents (Ocean): Strong underwater currents, Pilot or Swim check to avoid being swept off course.
  10. Merrow Patrol (Coastal): 2–4 merrow warriors. Hostile or curious.
  11. Aboleth Sensing (Deep Ocean or Waters): Party can sense psionic disturbance from a lairing or moving aboleth. Minor effects or challenge.
  12. Shipwreck or Flotsam (Coastal or Ocean): Debris from other travelers, may contain treasure or hazard.
  13. Salt Storm (Island or Coastal): Abrasive winds, reduce movement and Fortitude save for exhaustion.
  14. Fungal Bloom (Island Valley): Bioluminescent, slippery, Acrobatics or Climb check.
  15. Nomadic Sea Sprite (Ocean): May help or hinder travelers.
  16. Tide-pool Predator (Shallow or Coastal Ocean): 1–3 sea snakes or scorpionfish 1–3.
  17. Migratory Kraken Juvenile (Ocean): Usually only 1.
  18. Salt Crust Collapse (Coastal or Island): Reflex save or fall into shallow pools.
  19. Floating Ice Coral (Ocean): Can be harvested. Swim check.
  20. Weather Phenomenon (Any): storm, fog, or lightshow may impact navigation.
